Treat Yourself to a Smile Makeover

Central Jersey Dental wants you to look and feel your best with a great smile. Cosmetic dentistry is about presenting your best self to the world. Do you see any flaws in your smile that you would like to correct? Do you have any stains caused by soda, coffee or tea? Treat yourself to a smile makeover with Central Jersey Dental.

One way to remedy any flaw you may see in your smile is through veneers. If you have misshapen teeth, unsightly gaps, or deep discoloration, our modern veneers may be the answer. These new veneers are as thin as a contact-lens and super translucent. Since they are so thin, little to no tooth reduction is necessary. In many cases you won’t even need a shot! Another choice is traditional veneers. These are thin porcelain coverings that fit over and are bonded to your teeth, look natural, and are made from advanced dental ceramic.

We are happy to help you have a flawless smile in as little as two visits.

Modern Endodontics Can Save Hopeless Teeth

Teeth with damaged or infected roots previously required extraction, which can cause a lot of problems and should be done as a last resort. Endodontists perform a variety of procedures including root canal therapy, surgery, treating cracked teeth, and treating dental trauma. When dental decay reaches the nerve of the tooth (or the tooth has become infected), a simple filling does not suffice. Endodontics can save the tooth by removing the pulp of a tooth and replacing it with a filling material. The pulp of a tooth contains nerves, arterioles, venules, lymphatic tissue, and fibrous tissue. If the pulp becomes diseased or injured, endodontic treatment is required to save the tooth.

The most common procedure, and quite often the most feared, is a root canal. Root canals of the past were quite painful and gained a reputation as something to be avoided. However, with today's modern anesthetics and technology, we can offer treatment that is often painless! You are in good hands with the professionals at Central Jersey Dental.

TMJ Treatment at Central Jersey Dental

TMJ or temporomandibular joint disorder is a condition that causes tenderness and pain in the area where your jaw connects to your skull. This is the joint that allows you to talk, chew, and yawn. Most TMJ disorders can be caused by a variety of factors. Muscle fatigue from clenching or grinding teeth is probably the most common cause. Severe TMJ can be treated with surgical or dental intervention, but most cases of TMJ can be cured through self-managed care.

Did you know that TMJ is sometimes the cause of frequent headaches, aching or popping jaws, shoulder pain, and neck pain? If your teeth have been ground down over the years or lost due to accident or dental disease, your jaw is not able to settle into a naturally relaxed position. This causes tension in the muscles in the jaw, and can lead to pain that you may have already grown accustomed to living with. One self-managed cure is using a custom-made dental orthotic, which is a non-invasive and removable appliance. It aids in returning the jaw to its naturally intended position. If you have been living with the pain and discomfort described above, we invite you to discover the benefits that this procedure may bring to your quality of life.

A Relaxed Atmosphere

For some people, going to the dentist causes angst and nervousness. At Central New Jersey Dental, we do our best to make everyone comfortable. We see it as our job to listen to you, respect you, educated you, and not judge your decisions. Our staff makes it a point to carefully explain proposed treatments and answer all your questions. We want to establish a feeling of trust. It is very important for your comfort to trust your dentist. The staff is not only experienced and highly competent, but warm and friendly as well. We feel very fortunate to have such a superior staff.

Dentistry has changed over the years. Modern dentistry has many techniques, local, anesthetics, and relaxation methods to make your experience more comfortable. For example the Ozone treatment for cleaning teeth is pain free because there are no shots and no drilling. Nothing is done to the tooth other than the application of the ozone and the fluid, which allows the tooth to re-mineralize. This type of treatment kills 99% of bacteria, viruses, and fungi present in the tooth with just 10 seconds of exposure.

Central New Jersey Dental is a dentistry you can trust with your best interests and comfort in mind. Stop by for a visit!

Dental Implants

Let Central Jersey Dental help you smile again! If you are missing teeth or are tired of dentures, why not "grow" new ones? Dental implants can help you recapture a beautiful and healthy smile. From teeth at the front of the mouth to the back teeth, dental implants will be sold enough to eat a full variety of foods. Unlike bridges or removable dentures, the implants are placed under the gums. It looks just like the original tooth! The "tooth" placed on the implant appears to emerge through the gum rather than sitting on top of the gum like dentures.

Implants can be used on any number of lost teeth, and even people with no teeth can benefit from implants. Dental implants wont move around when talking, and don't need to be taken out at night. They are a better option for a dazzling and functional smile over dentures. Because Central Jersey Dental can handle the entire process from implant to crown fabrication, there is no need to be referred to another office. Call for a no obligation implant consultation today.

Central Jersey Dental Treatments

Central Jersey Dental is ahead of the game when it comes to high quality treatment for your teeth. What would you do if we could offer fillings placed painlessly without needles or drills? We use a new technology called WaterLase™. WaterLase™ is a revolutionary new laser technology that is used for both gum and tooth procedures. Energy from the laser is absorbed by the water instead of teeth, and there is no pain and no need for needles. Say goodbye to the dentist's drill.

Another needle free treatment is called Air Brush. This device aims a stream of tiny particles and air at the area of decay on the tooth and mists it away. Most patients require little or no anesthesia. The long recognizable sound and vibrations of the drill are exchanged for a more comfortable experience.

Central Jersey Dental also offers custom mouth guards to protect your teeth. There are many sports can be dangerous without the proper protection for your teeth. We are happy to offer custom-made sports mouth guards that fit, protect, and can be worn for any sport. If you have bruxism or grind your teeth, we can also provide you with a mouth guard to protect your teeth and relax your jaw muscles.

Check out our website to see more about what we can offer. Make an appointment and visit us soon!

Dental Cleaning in Monroe Township NJ

Dental cleaning also known as teeth cleaning is an important part of oral hygiene and it consists in the removal of plaque, preventing caries (also referred to as cavities), gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Besides the daily brushing and flossing (interdental cleaning) done at home, dental hygienists are prepared to remove hardened deposits which are left behind even with routine cleaning.

Prophylaxis (or teeth cleaning) performed by a dental hygienist removes tartar (consisting of mineralized plaque) that may develop especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine toothbrushing.

Between cleanings by a dental hygienist, good oral hygiene helps to prevent cavities, tartar build-up, and gum disease.

Laser Dentistry

Laser Dentistry in Monroe Township NJ

Raise your hand if you like needles! Right, nobody likes them. So, what would you say if you could have your new fillings placed painlessly without drills or needles? Right, it doesn't seem true, does it?

With a revolutionary new laser technology known as WaterLase™, it is possible. Unlike lasers of the past, this laser is used for both gum and tooth procedures. Previous dental lasers were used only for the gums or for whitening the teeth.

The WaterLase is a breakthrough in comfortable dentistry. Energy from the laser is absorbed by water instead of by the teeth. The microscopic water droplets are energized by the laser, and it is actually the energized water that removes the tooth decay - and usually with no pain and no need for needles. For many dental procedures the WaterLase replaces the dentist’s drill.

Headaches and Jaw Pain?

Did you know that dental occlusion (i.e. your bite) can be the cause of headaches, aching or popping jaws, shoulder pain, and even neck pain?

If your teeth have been ground down over the years or lost due to accident, dental disease or negligence, your jaw may not be able to settle into a naturally relaxed position, causing tension in the muscles in the jaw.

This condition, also known as TMJ Disorder, may seem harmless at first, but it can lead to a variety of discomfort and pain. TMJ or TMD, as it is also known, stand for Temporomandibular joint disorder and the disorder and resultant dysfunction can cause significant pain and impairment.

Approximately 35 million people in the United States suffer from TMJ related problems. While both men and women experience TMJ disorders, the majority of those seeking treatment are women in their childbearing years.

Some people may have already grown accustomed to living with the symptoms of TMJ, not knowing how to diagnose it or simply for not knowing that there are alternatives available. By using a custom-made dental orthodontic by a professional dentist, the jaw can return to its natural position.

This type of orthodontic is a non-invasive removable appliance, which will allow your jaw to progressively move back to its intended position, relieving pain and discomfort and reducing the chances of more serious injuries.

Get a New Smile with Cosmetic Dentistry

You probably heard of cosmetic dentistry before, however it doesn't necessarily have to mean an extreme makeover or something reserved for celebrities only.

Nowadays, you can improve your smile in many ways, without having to go through surgery or spending a huge amount of money. Teeth whitening is certainly one of them. With take-home kits, it is possible to have brilliantly white teeth without stains or darkness, usually within 1 to 14 days. An experienced dentist can assist you with professional-strength whitening strips or custom whitening trays prepared in the office.

If you still have silver-mercury amalgam (very common some years ago) you are most likely familiar with the constant memory of not wanting to smile or laugh for the sake of not showing those dark spots in your teeth. Aesthetically speaking we all know white fillings look natural and beautiful. What you may or may not know is that silver-mercury amalgams pose another problem: metal does not bond well to teeth, so decay can and does eventually leak into the tooth.

Modern, state-of-the-art restorations, with that natural-looking white color can replace these amalgams. It will make your smile look amazing but it will also allow your teeth to be stronger, reducing the chance of decay in the future.

Now, if you need a little more help and are looking to restore your smile, crowns, fixed bridges, implants, custom life-like dentures and partials, porcelain veneers and bonding can be a good choice too.
